Abstract

Produksi paraldehida dari proses polimerisasi asetaldehida melalui 3 tahapan proses yaitu, tahap pre-treatment asetaldehida, tahap reaksi polimerisasi, dan tahap separasi. Tahap pre-treatment dilakukan dengan menguapkan asetaldehida secara keseluruhan menjadi fase gas sebagai umpan mixing point lalu direaksikan kedalam reaktor. Selanjutnya, tahap reaksi polimerisasi dilakukan dengan mereaksikan asetaldehida dengan katalis amberlyst 15 konversi maksimum reaksi sebesar 92% pada reaktor fixed-bed multitube. Kemudian hasil reaksi dimasukkan ke dalam menara distilasi untuk memisahkan campuran asetaldehida, air, paraldehida serta melakukan recycle reaktan yang belum terkonversi sempurna. Produk bawah menara distilasi didinginkan untuk memperoleh paraldehida dengan pharmaceutical grade. Pabrik paraldehida memiliki jumlah pekerja sebanyak 126 dengan waktu operasional selama 24 jam dalam waktu setahun (330 hari) pembagian jam kerja mejadi 3 shift selama 8 jam/shift. Pabrik ini direncankan akan didirikan di Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang, Jawa Tengah dengan luas tanah sebesar 43.358 m2. Pabrik paraldehida ini membutuhkan listrik sebesar 291,12 kW, kebutuhan steam sebesar 1.082,460 kg/jam, dan kebutuhan air sebesar 106.808,220 liter/jam. Adapun modal tetap (FCI) dan modal kerja (WCI) yang dibutuhkan dalam pembangunan pabrik ini sebesar $26.747.173,70 & $4.720.089,48 dengan jumlah modal investasi pabrik ini (TCI) sebesar $31.467.263,18. Aspek ekonomi terukur dari pabrik ini meliputi nilai DCFFR sebesar 26,59%, nilai ROI sebesar 89,52%, nilai SDP sebesar 5%, dan nilai BEP sebesar 56%. Berdasarkan aspek-aspek yang telah dijelaskan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik paraldehida dengan pharmaceutical grade ini layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut.
