Abstract

Proses produksi pabrik titanium (IV) oksida berbahan baku pasir besi (ilmenite) dan asam sulfat ini menggunakan fasa padat-cair sebagai bahan bakunya. Pabrik ini berkapasitas 72.000 ton/tahun yang akan beroperasi secara kontinyu. Dalam proses sintesis titanium (IV) oksida, terdapat beberapa proses utama, antara lain persiapan bahan baku, reaksi (leaching), reaksi hidrolisis, kalsinasi dan pemurnian produk titanium (IV) oksida. Bahan baku yang keluar dari reactor hidrolisis kemudian masuk ke dalam flash drum, dimana ada sebagian air yang menguap. Selanjutnya bahan mengalami beberapa pemurnian dengan menggunakan separator. TiOSO4 hasil leaching kemudian direaksikan dengan air dalam reactor hidrolisis. Hasil dari reaksi hidrolisis yaitu TiO(OH)2 kemudian dikalsinasi hingga terbentuk TiO2 yang merupakan produk dan disimpan di tempat penyimpanan. Pabrik titanium (IV) oksida ini direncanakan berdiri di daerah Kalimantan Selatan, yakni Pulau Sebuku dengan luas tanah 240.000 m2. Adapun kebutuhan energi untuk pengoperasian pabrik ini meliputi kebutuhan listrik sebesar 14.882,21 kW dan air untuk utilitas sebesar 60.503,50 kg/jam. Sedangkan untuk hasil analisis ekonomi, didapatkan perhitungan dengan modal tetap sebesar Rp847.879.899.890,57, modal kerja sebesar Rp127.181.984.983,59 dan biaya produksi sebesar Rp 1.263.625.716.094,62. Selain itu analisis profitabilitas menunjukkan nilai ROI sebesar 133,95% BEP 42,5%, DCFR 45,85%, SDP 22,7%, DPBP 2,12 tahun, dan NPV Rp 6.375.098.732.325,05.
