Abstract

Simpang Muara Rapak is a plot intersection where there are five road segments meet, namely Jl. Klamono–Jl. Soekarno Hatta–Jl. Ahmad Yani (S)–Jl. Balu–Jl. Ahmad Yani (B) is equipped with a traffic light signal setting. At this intersection is one of the intersections that has many activities such as trade and service areas, industry, ports, worship, education, settlements, and health services. From the various activities, traffic conditions have increased the number of motor vehicles and heavy vehicles resulting in congestion if the capacity of the road is in a fixed state. This study was conducted to analyze the performance of signalized intersection in the current condition and the next five years and provide solutions for handling if the level of service at the intersection is not eligible. Based On Peraturan Menteri Perhubungan No. 96 Tahun 2015, the level of service at the intersection is categorized using a delay value where the arterial road service level is at least B with a delay value of more than 5-16 seconds. The method used in this study is microscopic simulation using Vissim auxiliary program. The results obtained from this study is the performance of Simpang Muara Rapak has a service level F with a delay value of 176.55 seconds. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that Simpang Muara Rapak classified as having a very poor service level, it needs to be reviewed to improve the performance of the intersection by providing several alternative solutions, namely changes in cycle time, widening the road segment with changes in cycle time, and flyover planning. The optimal alternative solution is obtained in alternative III with flyover planning with delay time decreased by a percentage of 76.68%.
