Abstract
Hazardous waste can cause health problems and environmental pollution when the resulting waste was not managed well. The hazardous wastes that generated from the ash in hospital incinerator because it contained zinc (Zn), plumbum (Pb), cadmium (Cd), cromium (Cr), and silica (SiO_2). One of the ways used to reduce the incinerator ash material is by making it a sand substitute for paving block. This study aimed for looking for the composition for paving block this researched was started by preparation of paving block materials such as sand, the ash, cement, and water. The ash was tested XRF for identifying contains. Then mix design was done for measuring the compressive strength into 20 MPa. The result showed paving block that have the highest compressive strength was 14,16 Mpa in variations of 10% ash. In addition, there was an absorption test of water with a variation of 10% of 7.78%. From these resulted it was knew that mixed used ash of incinerator can caused strong pushed down and increased absorption of normal variations of 10%. TCLP resulted from incinerator ash in S/S objects were at the best compressive quality and water absorption had heavy metals under the quality standard based on Indonesia Regulation of Environmental Control.
