Abstract
Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) atau yang biasa disebut dengan nama kloroetana adalah senyawa organik dengan rumus molekul C2H3Cl. Kegunaan dari VCM dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku untuk memproduksi Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC). Produksi vinil klorida monomer dari etilen diklorida dengan kapasitas 140.000 ton/tahun terdiri dari tahapan pretreatment bahan baku, sintesa vinil klorida monomer, dan pemurnian. Pretreatment etilen diklorida dilakukan dengan merubah fase etilen diklorida cair menjadi gas. Sintesa vinil klorida monomer terjadi pada reaktor fixed bed multitube dengan proses thermal cracking. Tahap pemurnian dilakukan untuk memisahkan produk samping yang terbentuk pada reaktor agar diperoleh produk dengan kemurnian tinggi. Pabrik ini direncanakan berdiri di Kota Cilegon, Jawa Barat pada tahun 2032 dengan kapasitas 140.000 ton/tahun dan beroperasi selama 330 hari/tahun. Berdasarkan analisa ekonomi yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh investasi modal tetap pabrik vinil klorida sebesar $ 75.921.803,92 dengan nilai DCFR sebesar 37,09%, Net Profit Value sebesar $ 493.542.374, DPBP selama 2,426 tahun, ROI after tax sebesar 103,79%, BEP sebesar 60% dengan kapasitas 84.000 ton/tahun, dan SDP 10% saat kapasitas 14.000 ton/tahun.
