Abstract
Produksi serium(IV) oksida dari pasir monasit melalui proses hidrometalurgi dengan kapasitas 300 ton/tahun, terdiri dari 5 tahapan proses, yaitu tahap pre-treatment pasir monasit, tahap digesti alkali, tahap disolusi asam, tahap ekstraksi pelarut, serta tahap presipitasi dan kalsinasi. Tahap pre-treatment dilakukan untuk menghancurkan pasir monasit menjadi partikel halus berukuran 325 mesh. Selanjutnya, tahap digesti alkali dilakukan dengan mereaksikan pasir monasit dengan sodium hidroksida pada reaktor alir tangki berpengaduk. Tahap disolusi asam dilakukan dengan mereaksikan hasil (RE, Th) hidroksida dengan asam nitrat. Kemudian, dilakukan tahap ekstraksi pelarut untuk mengekstrak senyawa Ce nitrat. Hasil ekstraksi akan dipresipitasi dan dikalsinasi untuk memperoleh senyawa CeO2. Pabrik serium(IV) oksida memiliki jumlah pekerja sebanyak 485 pekerja dengan waktu operasional selama 24 jam dalam waktu setahun (330 hari) dengan pembagian jam kerja menjadi 3 shift selama 8 jam/shift. Pabrik ini direncanakan akan didirikan di kawasan industri Tanjung Kalian, Kabupaten Bangka Barat, Bangka Belitung dengan luas tanah sebesar 11.040 m2. Pabrik serium(IV) oksida ini membutuhkan listrik sebesar 664,566 kW/jam dan kebutuhan air sebesar 8.779,14 kg/jam. Adapun modal tetap (FCI) dan modal kerja (WCI) yang dibutuhkan dalam pembangunan pabrik ini adalah sebesar Rp 719.662.673.255,04 dan Rp 84.666.196.853,53 dengan jumlah modal investasi (TCI) dari pabrik ini sebesar Rp 846.661.968.535,34. Aspek ekonomi terukur dari pabrik ini adalah nilai DCFR sebesar 74,82%, nilai ROI sebesar 78%, dan BEP sebesar 74%. Berdasarkan aspek-aspek yang telah disebutkan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik serium(IV) oksida ini layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut.
