Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi kuat arus dan jenis kampuh pada pengelasan SMAW terhadap cacat hasil lasan dan kekuatan Bending pengelasan sambungan butt joint baja ASTM A36. Penelitian ini sampel yang digunakan adalah baja ASTM A36 dengan pengelasan variasi kuat arus yaitu 90 A, 110 A, dan 130 A serta variasi bentuk kampuh V dan Single V dengan pengelasan SMAW menggunakan elektroda E7018. Spesimen dilakukan pengujian NDT berupa Visual Test, Penetrant Test, dan Magnetic Test, dan pengujian DT berupa Bending Test. Pada pengujian NDT didapatkan cacat pada spesimen arus 90 A berupa cacat Spatter dan Arc Strike. Pada arus 110 A berupa cacat Spatter, Undercut, dan Porosity. Pada arus 130 A berupa cacat Spatter, Undercut, dan Overlap. Hasil pengujian DT kekuatan Bending tertinggi ada pada kampuh SV dan V dengan arus 90 A dan nilai terendah ada pada kampuh V arus 110 A sebesar 1069,44 Mpa. Setelah dilakukan pengujian NDT variasi arus memiliki pengaruh terhadap hasil lasan namun tidak dapat dipastikan pengaruh pada jenis kampuh, sedangkan pada pengujian DT variasi arus dan jenis kampuh berpengaruh terhadap kekuatan Bending. Kata kunci: SMAW, Baja ASTM A36, Jenis kampuh, Arus las, Pengujian NDT &DT.
