Abstract
Marine Fuel Oil (MFO) merupakan bahan bakar utama dalam industri maritim yang memerlukan pengawasan ketat terhadap kualitasnya guna memastikan kinerja operasional yang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas produk MFO yang diproduksi saat ini, melakukan analisis perbandingan antara hasil uji laboratorium dengan spesifikasi yang tercantum dalam standar ISO 8217:2017, serta memberikan rekomendasi untuk peningkatan kualitas produk. Guna memastikan bahwa kualitas produk MFO sesuai dengan standar internasional ISO 8217:2017, dilakukan serangkaian pengujian laboratorium dengan menggunakan metode uji ASTM yang sesuai untuk setiap parameter. Pengujian meliputi viskositas (ASTM D445), densitas (ASTM D1298-12b), kadar sulfur (ASTM D4294-21), kadar air (ASTM D95-13e1), titik nyala (ASTM D93-20), dan titik tuang (ASTM D97-17b). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa empat parameter telah memenuhi standar, yaitu viskositas sebesar 55,96 cSt, densitas 889,6 kg/m³, titik nyala 107,5°C, dan titik tuang -21°C. Sementara dua parameter kadar sulfur sebesar 0,531% dan kadar air sebesar 0,87% masih melebihi batas yang ditetapkan dalam ISO 8217:2017. Sehingga rekomendasi yang digunakan untuk memperbaiki kualitas bahan bakar MFO optimalisasi unit hydrotreater, instalasi coalescer untuk pengurangan kadar air, peningkatan kompetensi sumber daya manusia melalui pelatihan, serta penerapan sistem pemantauan kualitas berbasis real-time.
