Abstract

Penggunaan bahan bakar fosil seperti batu bara sebagai sumber energi listrik konvensional yang berasal dari PLN masih cukup dominan dan dapat memberikan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan, salah satu contohnya yaitu pemanasan global. Energi terbarukan, khususnya energi matahari menjadi solusi ramah lingkungan yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pendamping energi fosil. Indonesia memiliki potensi radiasi matahari yang cukup tinggi sekitar 4,8 kWh/m2/hari, sehingga sangat layak dimanfaatkan melalui Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS). Selain proses pembangunan yang relatif mudah, penerapan PLTS juga mendukung konsep Eco-Campus dan Green Building di Institut Teknologi Kalimantan sebagai langkah nyata dalam pengurangan emisi karbon dan efisiensi energi di lingkungan kampus. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai kelayakan teknis dan ekonomi penerapan PLTS On-Grid di gedung A Institut Teknologi Kalimantan. Kelayakan teknis dianalisis menggunakan analisis struktur dan Performance Ratio (PR), sementara kelayakan ekonomi ditinjau berdasarkan Net Present Value (NPV), Profitability Index (PI), dan Discount Payback Period (DPP). Hasil penelitian manunjukkan nilai PR sebesar 81%, yang mengindikasikan kelayakan teknis. Dari aspek ekonomi, diperoleh NPV positif sebesar Rp. 992.110.900, PI sebsar 1,33, dan DPP selama 22 tahun yang lebih singkat dari umur investasi yaitu 30 tahun, sehingga layak secara ekonomi. Selain itu berdasarkan hasil analisis, struktur atap gedung A Institut Teknologi Kalimantan juga mampu menahan beban panel surya, sehingga layak secara struktural. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penerapan PLTS On-Grid di gedung A Institut Teknologi Kalimantan dinyatakan layak secara teknis dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mendukung perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembangunan PLTS yang efisien dan berkelanjutan di lingkungan Institut Teknologi Kalimantan.
