Abstract

Kelurahan Batu Ampar terus mengalami pertumbuhan penduduk yang diikuti dengan bertambahnya jumlah timbulan sampah plastik rumah tangga. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan agar mengetahui jumlah timbulan dan komposisi sampah plastik Kelurahan Batu Ampar, kondisi eksisting, serta memberikan rekomendasi pemanfaatan sampah plastik rumah tangga. Penentuan jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Slovin, sedangkan teknik pengukuran timbulan sampah plastik mengacu pada standar SNI 19-3964-1994. Rata-rata berat timbulan sampah plastik sebesar 0,0231 kg/orang/hari, timbulan sampah plastik Kelurahan Batu Ampar sebesar 846,014 kg/hari dan rata-rata volume timbulan sampah plastik yaitu sebesar 0,011 m^3/orang/hari. Hasil komposisi setelah sampling terdiri dari jenis sampah plastik yaitu PET (23,949%), HDPE (14,562%), PVC (0,194%), LDPE (17,328%), PP (25,189%), PS (8,928%), Other (9,850%), adapun hasil karakteristik melalui analisis proksimat yang dilakukan di Politani Negeri Samarinda didapatkan hasil kadar air sebesar 0,13% kadar abu sebesar 0,96% kadar volatil sebesar 98,32% dan fixed carbon sebesar 0,7%. Kondisi eksisting pada Kelurahan Batu Ampar berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan observasi terdapat 19% yang sudah melakukan pemanfaatan sampah plastik, 19% yang sudah mengetahui cara mendaur ulang, dan 37 % yang masih menggunakan barang/kemasan yang dapat didaur ulang. Bank sampah di kelurahan Batu Ampar hanya terdapat 1 unit yang berada di RT.37 namun pemanfaatanya belum maksimal. Berdasarkan hasil uji karakteristik, direkomendasikan beberapa pemanfaatan sampah plastik menjadi Bahan dasar pembuatan bahan bakar, Bahan baku pembuatan briket, Bahan campuran aspal, Eco-paving block, dan Eco-boba. Pada penelitian ini juga memberikan 7 rekomendasi reduce pada sampah plastik jenis PS dan Other.
