Abstract

Kebutuhan energi yang tinggi dan permasalahan limbah plastik yang terus meningkat mendorong pencarian sumber energi alternatif yang ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik bahan bakar biosolar yang di campur dengan minyak plastic hasil pirolisis jenis Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) serta pengaruhnya terhadap performa mesin diesel Yanmar TF 85-MH. Campuran bahan bakar dibuat dengan variasi campuran minyak plastik sebesar 0%, 5%, 10%, dan 15%. Pengujian karakteristik bahan bakar biosolar dengan output kimianya viskositas, densitas, cetane number, nilai kalor, serta performa mesin diesel yang meliputi nilai torsi, konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik, dan efisiensi thermal. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa penambahan minyak plastik menurunkan viskositas dan densitas, namun tetap dalam batas standar. Kadar sulfur menurun, menunjukan bahan bakar menjadi lebih ramah lingkungan. Nilai cetane meningkat seiring bertambahnya campuran LDPE, dengan nilai tertinggi sebesar 53,9 pada campuran 15% yang menunjukan kualitas pembakaran yang baik. Campuran 15% menghasilkan torsi, SFC, dan efisiensi thermal tertinggi menunjukan bahwa campuran ini lebih efisien dibandingkan dengan biosolar
