Abstract
Metil salisilat merupakan salah satu bahan farmasi yang sedang dikembangkan di Indonesia dan telah disusun dalam Rencana Induk Pembangunan Industri Nasional (RIPIN) tahun 2035 oleh Kementrian Perindustrian Republik Indonesia. Metil salisilat merupakan turunan ester yang umum digunakan sebagai Bahan Baku Obat (BBO), dan anti plak (pada obat kumur). Hingga saat ini metil salisilat terus diimpor dari beberapa negara seperti China dan Jerman untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dalam negeri. Berdirinya pabrik metil salisilat di Indonesia memiliki potensi yang besar untuk memenuhi kebutuhan impor dari tahun 2030 hingga 2050, dan juga dapat membantu rencana pemerintah untuk mendukung beberapa SDGs diantaranya SDGs 3: “Kesehatan dan Kesejahteraan”, dan SDGs 9 “Industri, Inovasi, dan Infrastruktur”. Metil salisilat diproduksi melalui proses esterifikasi dengan menggunakan metanol dan asam salisilat yang direaksikan dalam reaktor fixed bed secara eksotermis. Reaktor ini beroperasi pada suhu 60°C dan tekanan 1 atm menggunakan katalis sulfat-zirkonium dioksida. Produk utama yang dihasilkan adalah metil salisilat dengan besar konversi 88% dan yield sebesar 88%. Pra-rancangan pabrik metil salisilat berkapasitas 4.000 ton/tahun ini akan berdiri di Kawasan Industrial Estate (KIE) pada tahun 2030 yang berlokasi di Kota Bontang, Kalimantan Timur. Pendirian pabrik ini membutuhkan TCI sebesar $19,218,515.55, dan TPC sebesar $35,857,264.70. Pabrik metil salisilat yang dirancang memiliki ROI 91.40%, NPV $ 116,827,570.47, dan DCFR 50.55 yang dirancang layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut.
