Abstract

Air quality in hospital environments is an important factor in supporting patient comfort and recovery, especially in inpatient rooms that are enclosed. This study aims to analyze the concentration of ambient air pollutants such as Carbon Monoxide (CO), Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM₂.₅), and Particulate Matter 10 (PM₁₀) in the inpatient ward of Hospital X, as well as to identify the factors that influence air quality. This research was conducted using graphical and tabular methods through chart analysis of field measurement data, along with a literature review based on the ambient air quality standards stated in the Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. The results showed that the concentrations of CO, PM₂.₅, and PM₁₀ were still below the established threshold limits, thus complying with ambient air quality standards. Factors such as poor air circulation and high visitor activity in the inpatient ward were identified as causes of increased particulate concentration. These findings led to several recommended actions, including improving room cleanliness, conditioning visitor footwear, limiting the number of visitors, and using exhaust fans to expel contaminated air from the room, in order to maintain ambient air quality and support a healthy hospital environment.
