Abstract
Kecepatan angin yang rendah di wilayah seperti Balikpapan menjadi tantangan dalam optimalisasi pembangkit energi angin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perilaku mekanik bilah turbin angin Savonius tipe U-Helical berbahan Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) dengan penerapan struktur sandwich berinti honeycomb, re-entrant, dan circular. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pendekatan numerik menggunakan simulasi statis, kelelahan (fatigue), dan Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), serta pengujian eksperimental three-point bending sesuai standar ASTM D790. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa struktur honeycomb unggul dalam hal distribusi tegangan dan deformasi, sedangkan struktur circular mencatat nilai kekuatan lentur tertinggi. Simulasi kelelahan menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan bentuk inti tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap umur kelelahan. Berdasarkan keseluruhan analisis, struktur honeycomb direkomendasikan sebagai konfigurasi paling efisien untuk bilah turbin Savonius yang beroperasi di daerah dengan kecepatan angin rendah.
