Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi performa dan emisi gas buang pada mesin diesel yang menggunakan campuran biodiesel berbasis minyak kelapa sawit dan minyak dari limbah kulit pisang. Kedua bahan tersebut dipilih karena merupakan sumber energi terbarukan yang lebih ramah lingkungan dibandingkan bahan bakar fosil. Variasi campuran bahan bakar yang digunakan meliputi B0 (100% solar), B40 (70% solar, 20% minyak kelapa sawit, dan 10% minyak kulit pisang), serta B50 (50% solar, 30% minyak kelapa sawit, dan 20% minyak kulit pisang). Pengujian dilakukan terhadap sifat fisik (viskositas, densitas, nilai kalor, dan kandungan sulfur) serta performa mesin seperti torsi, konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik (SFC), dan efisiensi termal. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa B40 memberikan hasil terbaik dalam hal efisiensi dan daya torsi, serta menghasilkan emisi sulfur yang masih berada di bawah ambang batas yang ditetapkan oleh MARPOL Annex VI. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa minyak dari kulit pisang berpotensi dijadikan sumber energi alternatif yang berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan untuk mesin diesel.
