Abstract
Beton memiliki kelemahan berupa kuat tarik rendah dan sifat getas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kelemahan tersebut melalui konsep konstruksi berkelanjutan dengan memanfaatkan limbah lokal berupa fly ash PLTU Teluk Balikpapan sebagai substitusi semen dan serat sabut kelapa pascaperendaman NaOH 5% sebagai tulangan mikro. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis karakteristik workability, berat volume, kuat tekan, dan kuat lentur beton pada umur 28 hari. Rancangan campuran beton ditetapkan menggunakan fly ash secara konstan sebesar 15% dengan variasi kadar serat sabut kelapa sebesar 0%, 1%, 2%, dan 3% terhadap berat semen. Hasil pengujian XRF menunjukkan fly ash tergolong Kelas C dengan dominasi unsur besi (58,76%) serta defisit silika (21,23%) dan alumina (0,89%). Pada beton segar, peningkatan kadar serat menurunkan nilai slump hingga mencapai titik terendah 5 cm pada kadar 3% akibat sifat hidrofilik serat, meskipun homogenitas adukan tetap terjaga baik oleh efek bantalan peluru (ball-bearing effect) dari partikel bulat fly ash. Pengujian mekanis menunjukkan seluruh kelompok fly ash memiliki kekuatan dasar di bawah beton normal (25,02 MPa) pada umur awal akibat lambatnya laju hidrasi sekunder pozolanik. Namun, penambahan serat berhasil memperbaiki kekuatan beton melalui mekanisme jembatan retak (bridging effect). Kuat tekan silinder mencapai titik optimum pada kadar serat 2% sebesar 20,29 MPa, Sementara itu, kuat lentur balok mengalami peningkatan yang konsisten seiring bertambahnya kadar serat hingga memuncak pada variasi 3% sebesar 4,09 MPa (meningkat 35,43% dibandingkan variasi tanpa serat). Tambahan serat terbukti efektif merubah sifat keruntuhan sampel pengujian dari patah getas (brittle) menjadi daktail (ductile). Kombinasi substitusi fly ash 15% dengan kadar serat optimum 2% hingga 3% direkomendasikan untuk aplikasi struktur beton ramah lingkungan.
