Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis performa tiga variasi sambungan papan kayu laban (Vitex pinnata), yaitu Hook Scarf Joint, Nibbed Scarf Joint, dan Plain Scarf Joint, pada konstruksi lambung kapal kayu tradisional menggunakan simulasi numerik ANSYS Workbench Explicit Dynamics. Penelitian dilakukan melalui studi literatur, observasi lapangan di galangan kapal kayu Desa Kayu Api, serta pemodelan tiga dimensi spesimen uji three-point bending sesuai SNI 03-3960-1995. Simulasi dilakukan dengan memberikan pembebanan berupa pressure yang dihitung berdasarkan tegangan izin kayu sesuai PKKI, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan parameter Equivalent Stress, Equivalent Elastic Strain, Directional Deformation (Z Axis), lokasi kritis, dan potensi mode kegagalan. Hasil simulasi selanjutnya dievaluasi berdasarkan klasifikasi kelas kuat kayu menurut Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Nibbed Scarf Joint menghasilkan Equivalent Stress terendah sebesar 13,109 MPa dan Equivalent Elastic Strain terkecil sebesar 0,010876 mm/mm, sedangkan Hook Scarf Joint memiliki Directional Deformation paling kecil sebesar 0,25706 mm. Seluruh variasi sambungan memenuhi persyaratan kelas kuat kayu menurut BKI. Berdasarkan keseluruhan hasil simulasi, Nibbed Scarf Joint memiliki performa terbaik karena mampu menghasilkan distribusi tegangan yang lebih merata dan regangan elastis yang lebih rendah dibandingkan variasi sambungan lainnya.
