Abstract
Turbin angin sumbu vertikal tipe Helix Savonius memiliki keunggulan dalam menerima angin dari berbagai arah, namun masih menghadapi permasalahan terkait beban struktural yang dapat memengaruhi kekuatan mekanik dan karakteristik dinamis rotor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi geometri core struktur sandwich berbahan Polylactic Acid (PLA) terhadap respons mekanik dan momen inersia bilah turbin angin Helix Savonius berprofil airfoil Wortmann FX 74-CL5-140 menggunakan metode Finite Element Method (FEM). Variasi geometri core yang dianalisis meliputi Solid, Antitetra Chiral, Hound’s Tooth, Hilbert Curve, dan Re-Entrant. Beban masukan pada analisis FEM diperoleh dari hasil simulasi Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) berupa distribusi tekanan dengan rentang −3,66 Pa hingga 3,51 Pa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa seluruh variasi geometri core memiliki tegangan Von Mises di bawah yield strength material PLA sehingga seluruh konfigurasi dinyatakan aman secara struktural. Variasi geometri core memberikan pengaruh terhadap distribusi tegangan, deformasi, dan karakteristik dinamis rotor. Dibandingkan dengan struktur Solid, struktur Hilbert Curve menunjukkan peningkatan tegangan Von Mises sebesar 1,24 kali dan deformasi sebesar 2,79 kali, namun tetap memiliki respons mekanik yang mendekati struktur referensi. Selain itu, struktur Hilbert Curve mampu mengurangi momen inersia sebesar 37,11% dibandingkan struktur Solid, sehingga menghasilkan keseimbangan antara kekuatan struktur dan kemampuan respons dinamis rotor. Berdasarkan metode Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) menggunakan Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), struktur Hilbert Curve menjadi konfigurasi core paling optimal karena memberikan kombinasi terbaik antara respons mekanik dan karakteristik dinamis.
