Abstract
Penggunaan material sintetis pada bilah turbin angin menimbulkan permasalahan lingkungan sehingga diperlukan pengembangan biopolimer ramah lingkungan. Polylactic acid (PLA) memiliki keterbatasan sifat termal, mekanik, dan ketahanan sinar ultraviolet (UV), sehingga lignin berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan tambahan alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh variasi konsentrasi NaOH pada ekstraksi organosolv terhadap kualitas lignin daun nipah (Nypa fruticans) serta potensinya sebagai bahan tambahan biopolimer. Variasi konsentrasi NaOH yang digunakan yaitu 5%, 10%, dan 15%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi NaOH meningkatkan efektivitas delignifikasi, dengan perlakuan NaOH 15% menghasilkan lignin terbaik, yaitu sebanyak 12,35 gr, yield 39,20%, dan kemurnian 78,102%. Karakterisasi FTIR, SEM-EDX, dan TGA menunjukkan lignin NaOH 15% memiliki sifat fisik, kimia, morfologi, dan stabilitas termal yang lebih baik. Sementara itu, hasil UV-Vis menunjukkan seluruh sampel mampu menyerap sinar UV-A dan UV-B, memberikan kemampuan UV-blocking hingga sekitar 99%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lignin daun nipah berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan tambahan ramah lingkungan untuk meningkatkan kinerja material biopolimer.
