Abstract
Pra-rancangan pabrik 1,3-butadiena berbahan baku etanol melalui proses Lebedev–Ostromilensky (ETB-LO) terintegrasi hadir sebagai salah satu alternatif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan 1,3-butadiena dalam negeri yang masih bergantung pada impor. Produk 1,3-butadiena banyak digunakan sebagai bahan baku industri karet sintetis, plastik, dan petrokimia, sehingga pendirian pabrik ini diharapkan dapat mendukung kemandirian industri nasional. Pabrik dirancang dengan kapasitas produksi 50.000 ton/tahun dan beroperasi secara kontinyu selama 24 jam/hari selama 330 hari/tahun. Pabrik ini direncanakan didirikan di Kawasan Industri Krakatau, Cilegon, Banten, berdasarkan pertimbangan ketersediaan bahan baku, akses pasar, infrastruktur, utilitas, dan kondisi lingkungan. Proses produksi diawali dengan tahap persiapan bahan baku etanol, kemudian etanol diuapkan dan dipanaskan sebelum dialirkan menuju dua reaktor fixed bed multitube yang beroperasi secara isotermal. Produk hasil reaksi selanjutnya dipisahkan melalui rangkaian unit pendinginan, pemisahan fasa, absorpsi, dan distilasi. Pemurnian akhir 1,3-butadiena dilakukan menggunakan pelarut N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), sedangkan pelarut dan sebagian komponen antara direcycle untuk meningkatkan efisiensi proses. Dalam operasionalnya, pabrik membutuhkan utilitas berupa air proses sebesar 23.580,3 kg/jam, air pendingin sebesar 1.001.349,65 kg/jam, Steam sebesar 334.875,4 kg/jam, dan bahan bakar boiler berupa solar sebesar 36.998,27 kg/jam. Hasil evaluasi ekonomi menunjukkan Total Capital Investment (TCI) sebesar US$21.899.895, Total Production Cost (TPC) sebesar US$93.675.616,57, Break Even Point (BEP) sebesar 75,35%, Shut Down Point (SDP) sebesar 15,87%, Return on Investment (ROI) sebesar 74%, Discounted Payback Period (DPBP) sebesar 2,72 tahun, Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return (DCFR) sebesar 35,9%, dan Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar US$100.800.079. Berdasarkan hasil kajian teknis dan ekonomi tersebut, pabrik 1,3-butadiena ini dinyatakan layak untuk dapat dikaji lebih lanjut lagi.
