Abstract
Kebutuhan asetaldehida terus meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan industri kimia, namun kebutuhan asetaldehida masih dipenuhi oleh impor. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan pra-rancangan pabrik asetaldehida dengan tujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan industri nasional. Pabrik dirancang dengan kapasitas produksi sebesar 17.500 ton/tahun dengan waktu operasi 330 hari/tahun yang direncanakan berlokasi di kawasan Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon, Banten dengan luas lahan sebesar 2.500 hektar. Lokasi dipilih dengan mempertimbangkan ketersediaan bahan baku, utilitas, infrastruktur, serta kemudahan distribusi produk ke pasar domestik dan kawasan Asia Pasifik. Berdasarkan hasil seleksi proses, proses oksidasi etilena satu tahap (single-stage Wacker process) dipilih karena memberikan kinerja ekonomi yang lebih menguntungkan dengan nilai Gross Profit Margin (GPM) sebesar Rp. 29.371.659,76/ton. Proses produksi menggunakan reaksi oksidasi etilena dengan katalis palladium klorida (PdCl₂) dan ko-katalis tembaga(II) klorida (CuCl₂) dalam reaktor bubble column pada kondisi operasi suhu 120 °C dan tekanan 3 atm. Berdasarkan analisis ekonomi, pendirian pabrik membutuhkan Total Capital Investment (TCI) sebesar Rp1,172,340,262,227.29 dan Total Production Cost (TPC) sebesar Rp1,057,117,422,296.17 Pabrik memiliki Return on Investment (ROI) sebesar 50%, Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar Rp3,989,761,199,521.91 dan Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return (DCFROR) sebesar 32% yang lebih tinggi dari nilai MARR sebesar 24%. Berdasarkan parameter tersebut, pabrik asetaldehid yang dirancang dinyatakan layak untuk didirikan.
