Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas pengelasan titik Gas Tungsten Arc Welding pada pelat aluminium AA1100 untuk aplikasi heat shield pada heat exchanger otomotif. Industri otomotif mendorong penggunaan aluminium seri 1xxx karena densitas rendah, konduktivitas termal tinggi, ketahanan korosi, dan kemudahan fabrikasi, meskipun kekuatan mekaniknya relatif rendah dan tidak ditujukan sebagai komponen struktural utama. Heat shield memerlukan sambungan permanen yang mampu menahan getaran dan siklus termal berulang, sehingga kualitas sambungan menjadi faktor kritis. GTAW spot weld dipilih karena memberikan kontrol panas yang presisi dan sesuai untuk pelat aluminium tipis. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh waktu tahan busur las terhadap sifat mekanik sambungan dan karakteristik mikrostruktur. Variasi waktu tahan dievaluasi terhadap ukuran nugget, luas zona pengaruh panas, dan kekuatan Tegangan geser sambungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh hubungan parameter waktu tahan dengan kualitas sambungan serta menentukan kondisi optimal GTAW spot weld pada aluminium AA1100. Hasil penelitian diharapkan mengisi kekosongan literatur terkait GTAW spot weld aluminium seri 1xxx dan memberikan dasar teknis bagi pengembangan heat shield pada heat exchanger otomotif.
