Abstract

Propilena (C3H6) merupakan bahan kimia intermediate penting yang banyak digunakan sebagai bahan baku polipropilena dan berbagai produk turunan petrokimia. Pra-rancangan ini disusun untuk merancang pabrik propilena berbahan baku metanol melalui proses Methanol to Propylene (MTP) sebagai upaya mendukung pemenuhan kebutuhan propilena domestik yang masih bergantung pada impor. Pabrik direncanakan didirikan di Patimban Industrial Estate (PIE), Kabupaten Subang, Jawa Barat, pada lahan seluas 87,88 ha dengan kapasitas produksi 230.000 ton/tahun. Pabrik dirancang beroperasi secara kontinu selama 24 jam per hari dan 330 hari per tahun setelah masa konstruksi. Proses produksi dilakukan melalui tahap persiapan bahan baku, reaksi katalitik, dan pemurnian produk. Reaksi berlangsung secara heterogen katalitik dalam reaktor multi-bed packed bed/fixed bed enam bed pada suhu sekitar 460 °C dan tekanan 2 bar menggunakan katalis H-ZSM-5. Produk utama yang dihasilkan adalah propilena, sedangkan produk samping berupa air, etilena, dan hidrokarbon C4+. Hasil evaluasi ekonomi menunjukkan Total Capital Investment (TCI) sebesar Rp2.350.548.251.728, Break Even Point (BEP) sebesar 67%, Shut Down Point (SDP) sebesar 10%, Return on Investment (ROI) sebesar 97%, Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar Rp3.916.928.880.494, Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return (DCFR) sebesar 51,68%, dan Discounted Payback Period (DPBP) selama 4 tahun. Berdasarkan tinjauan teknis dan ekonomi, pra-rancangan pabrik propilena melalui proses MTP ini layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut.
